This article is about the 1989 game. For other meanings, see Dragon's Lair.
Dragon's Lair is an adaptation of the original Dragon's Lair game for Amiga and other 16-bit home computers such the Atari ST. It was developed by Visionary Design with design by Sullivan Bluth Interactive Media, Inc. and first published by ReadySoft in 1989.
Story and levels[]
The concept and gameplay is almost identical to that of the original arcade game, but because of the systems' limitations, the adaptation is very minimalistic compared to the original.
It contains only 12 levels, not counting reversed ones. This version was followed by a pseudo-sequel/expansion, Dragon's Lair: Escape from Singe's Castle, which incorporates more levels from the original arcade game. It was also followed by a home computer port of the original's "true" sequel, Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp.

Amiga Compatibility[]
The Amiga version of Dragon's Lair: Escape from Singe's Castle was programmed to link with the Amiga Dragon's Lair to enable a full playthrough experience with the new addition of input helper arrows throughout the both parts.
Reception[]
Game Players praised the technical achievement of converting the laserdisc arcade title into a limited but visually faithful home version.[1]
Trivia[]
The Amiga version makes use of 6 floppy disks, and contains a hidden message to pirates and hackers requesting they delay the release of the game in the interest of the future viability of the Amiga platform.[2]
