Leraene in the first issue of the Dragon's Lair comics
Leraene is a character who debuted in the first issue of the Dragon's Lair comics and appeared regularly in a supporting role.
Leraene serves as the Captain of the Palace Guards, and she stays at the castle to protect it while the King and his royal entourage are away. Dirk the Daring informs her that Daphne has been captured by Singe, and together they take a dead Fire Drake to Wizard apprentice Halvern to learn more. She offers to accompany Dirk to rescue the princess, but Dirk refuses, saying that someone must be left to protect the castle. Leraene is seen next to Halvern commenting on Dirk's adventures over a scrying sphere, until it shatters.
Leraene is apparently a lesbian and is attracted to Daphne, lamenting that she probably will never see the princess' beauty again, and commenting favorably on the sexy gown Singe has dressed her in. She complains about how men objectify women, but, according to her, it is different when women objectify each other.
Appearance[]
In the series’ first three issues published by CrossGen Entertainment, Leraene appears to be a red-headed woman dressed in a green tunic and white leggings under her golden armor, but when Arcana Studio revived the series to publish the final three issues, she appeared to be a blonde dressed in a blue tunic and leggings. The inconsistency was maintained in Arcana’s graphic novel collecting the series.
