Rosemary is the name of Princess Daphne’s personal horse seen in multiple episodes of the Ruby-Spears Dragon's Lair animated series. She is loyal to Daphne in much the same way Bertram is to Dirk the Daring. Despite not being a speaking animal, she seems capable of understanding human speech and display signs of intelligence and contextual awareness that aid the heroes.
A cream-colored female horse, Rosemary is first identified by name in the episode "The Smithee's Haunted Armor." In the episode "The Girl from Crow's Wood," the evil Sybilla hypnotizes the pauper girl Bronwen into impersonating Daphne and manipulating Dirk into stealing the Griffin's Stone. The villainous enchantress then sends her Winged Creatures to abduct Rosemary, which serves as the pretense for Bronwen to lead Dirk and Timothy to the Griffin's Stone and then to the fortress, under the ruse of a rescue mission. Rosemary is able to escape and rescue the real Daphne from Sybilla's Winged Creatures; afterward they pursue Daphne's look-alike.
Trivia[]
