This article is about the 1989 game. For other meanings, see Space Ace.
The ReadySoft version of Space Ace (published in 1989 for PC, Amiga, Atari ST and Macintosh computers) is, like their adaptation of Dragon's Lair, a recreation of its namesake arcade game on the above less-powerful home systems via floppy disk, resulting in a lower resolution and a shorter game (although the Macintosh also received a CD version that was closer to the original). Many scenes, such as Ace's encounter with his evil doppelgänger Hexter, were cut, and the entire game may be completed in a little over two minutes if playing without error.
Scenes from the arcade original not included on this version would later be re-purposed for its sequel, Space Ace II: Borf's Revenge.
