Timothy is a regular supporting character created for the Ruby Spears animated series Dragon's Lair, which is based on the arcade game of the same name. He is Dirk the Daring's young squire, who only appears in the TV series, not being featured in any other Dragon's Lair media. He usually accompanies Dirk upon quests for King Ethelred, together with loyal steed Bertram and the headstrong Princess Daphne.

In the episode “The Pool of Youth,” Timothy is attracted to the beauty of Gelda, the daughter of Avalon’s Mayor Rukh. After awakens Gelda with a kiss to break Biralla’s sleeping spell, Timothy volunteers to personally escort her to the residence of the Sandman. Gelda and Timothy journey to the Sandman's home, a large sandcastle near the lake, and request his help against Biralla. The Sandman initially dismisses the request on account of being too old and slow to chase after the witch, but accepts the invitation when Timothy offers to carry him in a bag. The Sandman is able to magically disintegrate himself into granular sand to fit easily inside the bag. After reaching the Pool of Youth, Timothy releases the Sandman, who is able to restore Dirk the Daring, Princess Daphne, and Bertram to their proper ages by reversing the Pool's effect on them. After Dirk defeats Biralla with help from the Sandman, the witch’s enchantment spells are broken, returning Avalon’s population to normal. Timothy surprises the town with a gift of Biralla’s frozen frog statue. A grateful Gelda invites Timothy to stay as Avalon’s personal knight, but Dirk insists the squire return with him to learn how to be a knight, while Daphne promises to send him to visit.

A young unnamed squire with visual similarities to Timothy appears in the first issue of the Dragon's Lair comics attending to Bertram and Rustspot after Dirk returns to the king’s castle.
